A person in a striped purple and blue garment pours batter from a steel jug onto the griddle at the upper right. No people's faces are visible and no a person candidate appears in the frame. The dosas show lacy, circular patterns across their white surfaces.2017-12-15December 15 20172017-12-15December 15 20172017-12-15A close photo of a woman's hand piping pale batter in a spiral onto a sheet of white parchment paper, forming ring-shaped sweets. Several uncooked rings of batter lie scattered across the paper. The woman wears gold bangles and a dark ring. The top right corner shows a wooden board and a bowl edge. This is a preparation of naivedyam, the food offering prepared in the kitchen.2009-10-17November 11 20162016-11-11 +1 copiesA covered outdoor kitchen under a corrugated metal roof with fluorescent tube lights, where volunteers prepare food for a large gathering. Green metal tables are covered with rows of white idlis or rice cakes laid out on cloth. A man in a white sleeveless vest and white dhoti stands beside a steel pot, another man in white with a pink-and-white cloth over his shoulder works in the background, and a person in a bright orange wrap and blue skirt stands at the right with a steel vessel. Large steel cooking pots and a round steel tray sit on the floor, and a blue cloth backdrop with red and orange star-pattern motifs hangs behind the tables.2009-11-25A smiling man in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange shawl stands at a flat black cooking griddle, pouring batter from a steel jug while spreading it with a long-handled ladle. Several round dosas sit on the griddle, dusted with orange spice. A red tilak mark is visible on his forehead. Behind him are a window with grey metal grilles and yellow floral satin curtains. The man's identity is not established from appearance, so no a person candidate is asserted.2008-06-30 +1 copiesA large round stainless steel pot filled with cooked white rice mixed with seasoning, possibly curd rice, being stirred or topped with a block of rice from a plastic bag held by a person. A bare foot and a white-trousered leg of a person standing beside the pot are visible at left, and a steel container with a lid sits at right on a concrete floor.2012-11-27Close photo of a large dark metal cooking vessel filled with cooked white rice in a kitchen. A person's hand, with a light blue plaid cloth at the wrist, rests on the rim of the pot as if stirring or handling the rice. A white cloth hangs at the left edge. Only a hand and arm are visible; no face or full body appears. The scene suggests large-scale community food preparation.2012-04-06
