In the foreground a hand raises a long pole flying a red-maroon flag printed with a portrait of a bare-chested figure in orange-saffron clothing. An ornate orange canopy with gold fringe stands at right. Along the roadside, a crowd of devotees and onlookers, several wearing face masks, lines the route beside parked white vehicles and trees. Colourful decorated structures appear at the lower right near the crowd.2015-09-15 +1 copiesA red cloth banner hangs from a wooden pole, decorated with a white jasmine garland, red flowers and white stringy tassels. The banner bears a stitched or appliqué portrait of a bearded man with long dark hair, a red tilak on his forehead and an orange garment, set against the red fabric. Yellow marigold flowers hang at the lower left, and palm fronds blur in the background. No people are visible in the frame.2016-03-01 +1 copiesSeptember 14 20152015-09-14 +1 copiesSeptember 13 20152015-09-13 +1 copiesLow-angle outdoor photo of a dhvaja (flag) raising at a temple. A man in orange-red robes with long dark swept-back hair and multiple rudraksha malas hauls a rope that lifts a saffron-red flag decorated with green leaves up a tall ornate copper-toned pillar wrapped with yellow marigold garlands. A grey sky and a distant temple spire are visible behind. The robed man's distinctive long hair and rudraksha malas match the Swamiji (probable) cues, and the page indicates his presence, so he is treated as a probable candidate and the appearance-based label is applied; he is pulling the rope as a priest or devotee. One person is visible.2006-09-29September 13 20152015-09-13 +1 copiesA brown cloth flag hangs from a tall gold-painted flagpole during a dwajarohanam flag-hoisting ceremony. The flag is decorated with garlands of yellow and red-pink flowers and green leaves, and a sheaf of dried grass and leaves is tied at the top of the pole. A painted oval portrait on the flag shows a seated figure in orange robes with a long-haired, bindi-marked head and a beaded necklace, sitting cross-legged. Palm trees and a pale sky frame the scene. No people are visible.2018-12-22May 21 20162016-05-21A photograph of a red flag with gold-edged trim flying from a pole against a pale sky, with a green banana leaf tied beside it.
