Several people in orange and saffron garments and white dhotis stand in a cluster near a small roped-off enclosure, some reaching toward the tree trunk. A bare-chested man in an orange cloth stands at the front of the group, and a woman in a green sari and another in a pink sari stand to the left. A small figure in orange robes stands further right near a red-painted structure, and a woman in white sits on a bench at the far right. Tall railings and a red shrine structure are visible beyond the tree.

A photograph of a large ancient banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots and sprawling branches, standing in an open ashram-style grounds with white-painted stone platforms and a paved area. Around 15 people stand and sit beneath and around the trunk, several in white shirts, one in a white dhoti sitting on a white ledge at left, and women in red and pale salwars. They appear to be gathered quietly, some looking up at the tree, others conversing. No a person candidate is visible in this scene.

Many devotees, mostly women in saffron and orange saris and salwar, some in white and blue, crowd around the tree trunk and its lower branches on reddish-brown earth. A few people are climbing or standing on the branches, and others crouch or kneel near the base. A woman in a vivid red-orange sari stands in the foreground, and a figure in a yellow garment crouches at left. Small offering-like objects and a metal stand sit near the trunk. The scene suggests a tree-related ritual gathering.
