Rows of people in white clothing and saffron-toned garments sit at long tables covered with cloths, eating from plates and bowls. Orange and red curtains hang at the windows along the walls, and ceiling fans are visible. The room is crowded with dozens of diners photographed from a raised vantage point, many shown from behind. Rows of people sit on white plastic chairs at long tables with steel plates and cups, mostly in white clothing, several wearing white dhotis or kurtas, eating a meal. Some attendees are women in saris. This appears to be an annadhaan meal setting in an ashram hall.2010-07-03A three-panel collage of photographs from an ashram dining hall. The top-left panel shows several men in white shirts and white dhotis or lungis serving food from large steel pots and vessels along a counter. The top-right and bottom panels show rows of seated people eating at long metal tables with plates and steel bowls, many in white or light shirts, with blue and yellow plastic chairs and white walls and windows. The collage appears to be a page from an archive of ashram annadan (food service) activities.2010-07-07
