August 10 20112011-08-10August 09 20102010-08-09Outdoor photo on a dusty reddish-brown dirt clearing bordered by dense green trees. A group of about ten people walks in a loose line across the ground. Most wear white garments: white dhotis and white shirts, and several women wear white saris with orange or yellow borders. Several walkers have orange or saffron shawls draped over their shoulders. The figure third from the right in the line wears a full orange robe and has long dark hair, and the person just behind him is in white. On the left, a man in white walks barefoot with his palms pressed together in greeting, and a man in a light shirt and grey trousers stands watching near the trees. At right, a man in white stands near a row of footwear placed on the ground, and a low brick stack sits by the trees.2006-10-07August 10 20112011-08-10A dusty construction site at an outdoor ashram grounds on a sunny day, with sand and gravel heaps, scattered stone blocks and a wooden pole lying across the foreground. Several people in white clothing walk and stand among the trees and a grey block wall with a red gate. A seated figure in white sits near the sand mound, and a woman in a pink-and-white sari stands at right. Palm trees and rocky hills appear in the background.2008-06-18A group of about a dozen people walks single file along a dusty dirt path through dry scrub, palm trees and leafy trees under a pale sky. Several are in white clothing with yellow shawls or sashes. In the centre foreground, a figure in a full saffron-orange robe walks barefoot-style in sandals beside another person in orange, with a white-clad devotee behind them. Scattered boulders and small stones line the path, and a low stone structure sits at the right edge. The walk appears to be a pilgrimage circuit around a hill, but no signage confirms this.2009-08-05A group of people walks along a dusty dirt path lined with green trees, shrubs and a low terracotta-coloured wall on the left. In the foreground, several men in casual shirts and trousers, one in a blue shirt and another in a striped blue shirt, walk toward the camera. Behind them, a bald man in an off-white kurta and a man in an all-white outfit with a lanyard walk together. Further back, more people in white clothing, including women in white saris and a figure in a white shawl, continue along the path beside wooden fence posts.2010-09-05Outdoor photo of a group walking along a dusty dirt path with scrub and a tall palm tree behind them. In the centre, a man with long dark hair wears an orange saffron wrap and sandals, and beside him another person in orange robes walks. Around them are men and women in white dhotis, saris and shirts, several wearing yellow shawls and rudraksha malas. The procession appears to be a pilgrimage walk, consistent with a journey around a sacred hill.2009-08-05A photograph of a group walking along a dirt path lined with young trees and a low orange brick wall on the left. In the foreground, several men in casual shirts and trousers walk alongside a group in white. A bald man in white kurta and white trousers, with a lanyard around his neck, walks near the centre, and another bald man in white robes with a dark bag strap walks to his right. Further back, women in white and orange clothing and more men in white walk along the path under green foliage. No a person candidate is distinctively identifiable by visible cues, so the figures are described by role and clothing only.2010-09-05A dry, dusty open ground under bright daylight with scattered trees and palms in the background. About ten men in light shirts and dhotis or trousers are working or walking across the cleared earth, some holding long tools. A green-and-white tent and a tall water tank on a metal stand stand near the trees. On the right, a red-and-white concrete staircase leads up beside a green bin. Marking lines run across the ground.2006-10-24Outdoor photograph of a group walking along a dusty dirt path on a dry, open field with scattered rocks, a tall palm tree and shrubs in the background under a pale sky. Two prominent figures lead at centre-left: one in a flowing orange-saffron robe with sandals, and another in orange-saffron garments with a rudraksha mala, carrying a small lantern-like object. Behind them, many devotees in white dhotis and white shirts or white saris, some with yellow shawls, rudraksha malas and orange scarves, walk in procession. A man at far left shields his eyes with one hand. Other devotees follow along the path toward the right edge. A small purple logo appears in the upper-left corner.2009-08-05Outdoor parade on a dirt ground at a school-like compound. A line of boys in white shirts, white trousers and dark belts marches along long red carpet strips past a large grey granite boulder. Triangular pennants in pink, blue, green and white are strung overhead between trees. On the left a white building with a striped awning shelters seated people in white. A woman in a white sari with an orange border stands at the right edge. A short flagpole stands near the marching column.2008-01-25
