December 06 20162016-12-06Sepia-toned portrait of a smiling man with long dark hair, wearing a white turban with a gold-bordered band and a red-brown forehead dot. He wears a white garment with a gold-striped border draped over his shoulder and a long mala of dark rudraksha beads hanging to his waist. His right hand is raised in a gesture beside his chest, and a potted plant with feathery foliage stands at the right edge against a plain wall. a person in this photo is not indicated by the page, and the appearance cues (turban, rudraksha mala, gold-bordered white clothing) are present but the identity cannot be confirmed, so this is a person in ritual-style white dress.2004-08-25 +1 copiesA close-up photograph of a stack of Tamil-language booklets or books displayed side by side, each cover showing a smiling man in a bright orange turban with a red tilak mark on his forehead and an orange garment. Nearly every cover shows the same smiling man with a bright orange saffron turban, a red bindi, dark hair falling past his shoulders and an orange garment. The covers have dark bands with gold-coloured titling. A red and white printed sign sits at the upper right edge. Because these are book covers rather than physical people, no living people are visible in the scene.2010-02-18A smiling man in a white turban with a jeweled brooch set with a red stone and a red bindi on his forehead. The large framed portrait hangs on a navy blue backdrop beneath a garland of orange marigolds and white and red flowers. A printed caption in Tamil reads 'Paramahamsa Nithyananda' (பரமஹம்ஸ நித்யானந்தர்). Two brass oil lamps stand on the altar table below, with a small offering of flowers. Two more portrait covers on the shelves repeat the same image.A dark wooden bookshelf displays several Kannada and Gujarati books with glossy covers. The leftmost book shows a figure in a white head wrap and white robe holding a rudraksha mala, with a Kannada title. The second book carries a Kannada title, 'ಖಚಿತ ಪರಿಹಾರಗಳು', and shows a man with long hair and a white shawl. The two central books, titled 'ધ્યાન' with 'Meditation is for you' in Gujarati, show a figure in a golden-yellow turban and robe holding a staff, rudraksha mala at the neck. Dark hair falls past his ears, and a rudraksha mala of brown beads hangs at his neck over bare shoulders. A blurred pale backdrop and dark drape frame him. Swamiji (probable): the long swept hair, white turban with jewelled ornament, and rudraksha mala suggest the Nithyananda Paramashivam presentation, though the image alone gives limited certainty.2011-10-23
