In the foreground, a man in saffron robes and an orange turban stands facing the camera, with a white-clad man walking past on the left. Behind them a crowd of men in white dhotis and women in saffron, orange and green saris stands beside several colourful ceremonial umbrellas with tassels. A decorated white figure and a trident-topped pole appear at the right edge, and a pile of sand is visible on the right. The man in saffron wears a rudraksha mala and no visible crown or swept hair, so identity cannot be determined from appearance.2006-12-20Outdoor festival scene under palm trees and a decorated pavilion hung with orange and multicoloured fabric, flags and balloon-style columns. Men in white dhotis and white shirts carry a pole-mounted cloth canopy or palanquin-like structure on their shoulders across a sandy ground, with a red carpeted stage in the foreground. Many participants wear white dhotis, kurtas and sarees, while others wear saffron-orange garments. Several carry tall red-orange flags on poles, and colourful striped umbrellas are raised above the crowd. Drummers and musicians with hand drums walk in the middle of the group. A man in a blue shirt and dark trousers walks on the right beside a man in a light checked lungi. A garden hose lies across the lower right foreground.
