A photograph of a homa fire ritual. A figure in saffron-orange robes sits behind a rectangular brick fire pit with a tall flame rising from it, hands raised in prayer near the face. Pink and red flower petals and green leaves decorate the stone-edged pit, and brass vessels and a small offering dish sit to the right. The figure's orange robes and beaded necklace are visible, but the face is not clearly shown, so identity is uncertain.2007-09-17November 10 20112011-11-102010 - Photo Album +1 copiesClose-up photograph of a homa fire burning in a brick-lined fire pit, with tall orange flames rising from wood. A large open flame rises from a fire pit at right, with offerings in brass bowls and plates of fruit in the foreground. A woman in orange and red garments with a rudraksha-style bead necklace sits cross-legged beside the fire. Several seated figures in white clothing are around the fire, one with his hands together at left. A small decorated altar or chair stands at right, and tents are visible in the background. The scene suggests a homa or yagna with offerings.2005-05-25
