A photograph of a ritual on red stone ghat steps beside a river. A standing man in orange and gold cloth, bare-chested, with long dark hair, white tilak markings, a rudraksha-style beaded necklace and arm bands, holds up a brass multi-tiered oil lamp (aarti) toward the water. A seated woman in a white sari with gold border, hands folded in prayer, sits to the left among scattered flower petals. A red flag on a pole and devotees in the background, some in saffron and yellow, watch from behind a metal railing. Brass oil lamps line the steps. Identity cannot be confirmed from appearance.2016-12-19A photograph of a young person standing in the foreground on a paved edge, facing away from the camera, with one arm raised and the other hand open at the side. The figure is bare-chested and wears an orange-saffron dhoti-style wrap with broad gold borders, and a long rudraksha-style bead mala hangs down the back. The long dark hair is loose. Behind, tiered stone seating is filled with seated people in white dhotis, pink, yellow and green saris, and orange and red garments, with many small dark lamps or pots set along the steps. The scene reads as an outdoor gathering in warm daylight.2016-12-19A young man in profile performs an aarti with a tiered brass lamp holding several lit flames. He wears an orange dhoti with gold-bordered sash, bare chest marked with white ash stripes, multiple rudraksha mala necklaces and bracelets, and has long dark matted hair and a white tilak on his forehead. Blurred figures in white and red-draped seating are in the background. Only one physical person is clearly visible, and no visible person can be confirmed as a person from appearance alone.2016-12-19A standing man in an orange-saffron drape, with shoulder-length wavy dark hair and a bare upper torso, holds a small silver ritual bowl or lamp in one hand and gestures with the other near a flame. Beside him, a fire or lamp burns on a metal stand, and seated figures in orange and white clothing sit on the floor behind a wooden railing. Behind them are a blank white easel board and a dimly lit stage with framed decorations. The scene suggests a ritual or fire ceremony in an indoor hall at night.2006-08-22October 12 20172017-10-12December 16 20172017-12-16December 19 20162016-12-19February 24 20172017-02-24September 10 20122012-09-10A standing man in an orange sannyasi cloth wrapped around his waist and draped over one shoulder, bare-chested, with matted dreadlocks tied under a patterned headband, holds aloft a tiered silver aarti lamp with multiple lit oil lamps. A rudraksha mala hangs at his neck and wrists. Seated devotees fill the hall in red chairs and on orange floor mats, many in white and orange clothing. In the foreground, a silver bell rests on a striped cloth-covered table. Red drapes and a golden framed image appear behind, and a few devotees hold cloth bags printed with a lotus-like emblem.2018-01-01A young male priest stands in the foreground on stone steps, performing a ritual gesture with his palms pressed together at chest height. He is bare-chested, wearing a saffron-orange dhoti wrap, rudraksha mala beads, a white sacred thread, and a horizontal white sacred mark on his forehead and body. A tall brass or gold-topped ritual staff stands beside him. Behind him, rows of seated devotees in white and colourful clothes fill the tiered red stone steps, with small oil lamps or lit diyas placed along the steps. Two men in white dhotis are visible at the right edge.2016-12-17September 10 20122012-09-10
