January 02 20152015-01-02A shaved-headed priest in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl holds a green coconut aflame with camphor above a deity murti. The murti is draped in orange satin and heavily garlanded with yellow, orange, white and purple flower garlands and ornaments. A gold-painted vehicle or palanquin stands behind, with a black tyre visible at left. The setting appears to be a temple or ritual hall, consistent with a coconut aarti offering during a puja.2013-12-24A bald man in a rust-orange cloth with a white bead necklace sits on an ornate gold throne-palanquin under a canopy hung with multicoloured tassels and a flower garland of yellow, red, white and blue blooms. He raises a lit oil lamp in his right hand while looking upward, with a silver vessel beside him. The covered hall has a corrugated metal roof and a black speaker cabinet stands in the foreground on the right. Golden carved panels frame the throne.2013-12-18December 20 20112011-12-20A photograph of a gilded ceremonial palanquin or ratha-style procession vehicle under a striped metal roof. Its ornate gold carved frame and railings are visible, with a canopy of multicoloured gold-topped tassels in red, yellow, green, blue and pink. A long garland of marigolds in red, yellow, white and green hangs from the canopy. A partly visible orange umbrella stands at the top left. At the right edge, a hand holds a small brass lamp or vessel near a black speaker, and a child in a patterned shirt stands at the far right. The scene suggests a festival procession setup, with a deity or utsava murti not clearly visible.2013-12-18November 23 20102010-11-23September 09 20152015-09-09Photograph inside a temple at night showing priests in rust-brown and saffron dhotis performing a ritual before a large seated deity murti. A priest in the foreground wearing a red and gold garland and a maroon turban holds a lit camphor flame in a metal aarti lamp, while a second priest beside him holds a silver plate. Two more priests in similar attire stand behind them in the doorway. Gold jewellery and rudraksha-style beads are visible on the priests.2013-12-27September 23 20062006-09-23Outdoor ritual scene under a corrugated metal roof. A shaven-headed priest in a maroon dhoti with a gold border and bare upper body stands at left, holding a metal vessel and extending his hand as if sprinkling liquid toward a large deity murti. The murti is seated on a golden throne-like structure, dressed in an orange and maroon cloth, adorned with gold necklaces, a crown, and long garlands of yellow, orange, green and purple flowers. Palm fronds and a brass lamp stand are visible nearby. Small flower petals or droplets fly in the air.2015-01-03November 16 20152015-11-16A photograph of a ritual aarti at a deity murti heavily decorated with marigold and red flower garlands and a white floral necklace. A man in an orange-yellow head cloth and red dhoti holds a multi-flamed oil lamp toward the deity, his bare upper body adorned with beaded necklaces. Another person in orange stands at the left edge, and a bare-torsoed attendant appears at the right.
