May 08 20122012-05-08 +1 copiesA photograph inside a temple corridor of a procession. At centre, a man in saffron-orange robes wears long swept-back dark hair, a red bindi and tripundra-style forehead marks, a heavy garland of white jasmine and pink flowers, and a gold beaded necklace; he smiles and holds a green leafy garland. Beside him on the left, a man in saffron robes and a rudraksha mala holds an orange cloth and a small plate. A woman in orange and a woman in a red-bordered sari walk behind, and on the right a man in white kurta and dhoti carries a silver staff with a bird finial and wears a rudraksha mala. Devotees stand in the background, many in saddle-style saris, and a lit notice board hangs on the pillared wall. Swamiji (probable): the central figure wears long swept-back hair, saffron robes, rudraksha and gold ornaments, consistent with the page's identification, so the person is labelled probable here.2012-04-11May 18 20122012-05-18 +1 copiesA photograph inside a temple hall with carved stone pillars and a decorated ceiling. At centre, a man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban wears a long multi-strand garland of white, pink and red flowers and a gold necklace, smiling and gesturing with one hand. Beside him, a shirtless young man in a gold-patterned dhoti with a sacred thread smiles. A bare-chested older man on the left and a man in white with a rudraksha mala and orange shawl stand with hands folded in greeting. Behind them, a crowd of devotees, women in white saris and men in white shirts, watch; a man on the right wears a rosette ribbon on his shirt.2007-08-17Evening photograph of a procession walking through a stone temple gateway with carved pillars. In the centre, a figure in an orange-saffron robe and matching orange turban wears a long garland of white, pink and green flowers and a gold-toned necklace, walking barefoot with hands folded. Around him, men and women wear white dhotis, mundus and sarees, some with rudraksha malas and forehead markings. A shirtless young man in a brown cloth wrap and white dhoti walks at right, and a boy in white kurta with a white cloth over his head walks at lower right. The stone pillars and a dim lamp frame the scene.2007-08-17August 06 20092009-08-06May 10 20122012-05-10Night-time street scene of a procession or welcome. At centre, a figure in an orange-saffron robe and matching orange head wrap smiles, wearing a white and red flower garland and several beaded rudraksha-style malas. Around them, men in white dhotis and white shirts, some with orange shoulder cloths, stand close and clap or gesture; one holds a long wooden stick at left. Some people carry white and blue flags in the background. The figure has a distinctive saffron ascetic presentation, with several visible cues including the orange head wrap and beaded malas, so this is a person candidate in the crowd, though a face-based identification is not made. Ground is dark asphalt.2008-11-11Photograph inside a dim temple corridor of a group walking together. At centre, a man in a saffron-orange silk garment with a gold-bordered cloth, wearing multiple beaded rudraksha-style malas, gold bangles and a gold necklace, with a tilak on his forehead, walks barefoot on a stone floor. Behind and beside him, devotees in saffron robes and white dhotis with gold borders, some holding bundled cloth, move in procession. A man in a white shirt on the left and another in a turquoise shirt on the right are also walking. A tall silver staff is held by a man in white kurta with a mala. A small lamp glows in the background.2012-04-11December 20 20112011-12-20July 13 20092009-07-13June 05 20122012-06-05
