In the foreground, a person's hands pour water from a small brass vessel over a brass plate holding a small brass figure and a ritual setup. Brass oil lamps, a lit diya flame, a brass bell, a small plate of orange kumkum, flowers and a purple cloth lie nearby. Only the arms, hands, legs and bare feet of a few seated people are visible, including a wrist with a silver bangle and a yellow garment. Brass pooja vessels and offerings are arranged on the mat. No person's face or identity is shown, and no one is identified as a person.2011-12-15Close view of a ritual puja in progress at dusk. In the foreground a person in white clothing with a rudraksha mala and a bead bracelet holds a silver tray with pink flower petals, small brass bowls, a lit oil lamp, a camphor flame, incense sticks, and white flowers. A person in white clothing with ash-smeared hands and feet holds a small red flame or offering over brass puja items. Nearby are a brass tray with an oil lamp, brass bowls, a copper water vessel, an incense stick, a plate of rose petals and mixed flowers, a small brass bell, and a brass aarti lamp burning with a small flame. A striped cloth lies beside the bare feet. Only partial body parts are visible, so the person's identity cannot be determined from the image.2017-01-22December 11 20132013-12-11October 12 20162016-10-12Close photo of a seated puja in progress along a row of participants in white and saffron-trimmed garments with rudraksha malas and white sacred ash marks on their arms and chests. A person's hand holds a brass oil lamp (deepam) and other hands rest near brass plates and small cups of offerings, flowers and rice. Copper vessels, lit candles and several small oil lamps line the cool floor, with a striped woven mat beneath the devotees. The foreground shows an open book or sheet of ritual text. The scene suggests a group ritual with lamps and offerings rather than a specific named event.2017-01-22February 10 20172017-02-10A close-up photograph of a ritual row on a tiled floor. Several priests in white dhotis with yellow borders sit cross-legged, holding brass bells and offering items, with hands extended over brass plates of flowers, fruit and rice. Small brass cups and oil lamps with lit flames stand on orange cloth mats. On the right, people in saffron-orange robes sit in line beside the offerings. A few visible hands wear bangles and silver bracelets. Puja offerings are set out on plates with red flower petals and yellow marigold garlands.2011-02-02October 02 20112011-10-02January 06 20172017-01-06
