Outdoor photograph at dusk under large spreading trees. On the left, a dark stone deity murti with an orange headcloth and orange shawl stands inside a silver-framed shrine behind green cloth, with red kumkum and flower petals on the base. A bald priest in orange-red dhoti and shawl, with a sacred thread, holds a lit flame and a handbell at the murti. Behind him stand devotees: several in orange-red robes and women in white saris with hands folded in prayer. A man in a blue checked shirt on the right holds a tray of flowers and offerings. The scene suggests an aarti at a shrine.2013-12-18December 18 20132013-12-18December 18 20132013-12-18December 18 20132013-12-18December 18 20132013-12-18December 18 20132013-12-18December 18 20132013-12-18October 04 20102010-10-04 +1 copiesOutdoor evening ritual beneath a large banyan tree. In front, a line of saffron-robed sannyasis and devotees stands with hands folded in prayer. A tall young man in orange with long dark hair and a flower garland stands at front holding a plate, and a bald man in orange holds a staff. A woman in white with folded hands and a man photographing with a camera on the right add to the scene. Several people in white and yellow clothing stand nearby. The floor is dark polished stone. Oil lamp and offerings are visible near the shrine. A saffron-robed figure at the front has long dark hair, a flower garland and a plate, which fits the appearance cues of a person, though this is uncertain.2008-12-28December 30 20182018-12-30 +2 copies
