Inside the niche sit a bronze lamp, a brass bell, offering plates and marigold garlands before a painted deity picture. On the shelf to the right stand framed portraits: a painting of a saffron-robed sannyasi seated beneath a tree, a smaller framed image of a figure in orange and red, and a small red-clad deity figurine with a garland. A brass Ganesha figure stands on a tray in the lower right corner. No people are visible.2010-02-15A home shrine alcove with tiled walls and a wooden cabinet altar. Three framed portraits hang above it, each garlanded with yellow and red flower strands. The central poster labelled "PARAMAHAMSA NITHYANANDA" shows a figure in an orange robe with a rudraksha mala and long hair, with a garland draped across it. The two side portraits show a smiling woman in red and a figure in orange with hands folded. Brass oil lamps, a small kalasha, deity figurines, flower petals, incense sticks and a brass tray with sweets sit on the altar. A striped floor mat and folded orange cloth lie on the floor, and yellow cloth hangs from the ceiling at the top of the frame. No people are physically present.2014-07-08A wooden home shrine cabinet with carved lattice doors opened to reveal a devotional altar. Central deity murti or framed image of a multi-armed deity with a crown, surrounded by flower garlands in white jasmine and red roses, with a brass oil lamp in front and a brass kalasha-style vessel. Framed prints of other deities line the inner walls, and a hanging rudraksha-like mala drapes over the top. A red cloth hangs on the left, and brass pooja vessels and bells surround the cabinet. No people are visible.2006-11-24A lit shrine niche with a framed central painting of a goddess seated on a throne, adorned with gold jewelry, a white flower garland and a red bloom at her crown; a deity murti is set in front. Flanking framed prints show other goddesses and deities. The base is heaped with white jasmine, yellow marigolds and red flowers. A brass oil lamp stands on a tray at left, and a printed text panel hangs on the right wall. No people are visible.2006-11-24July 04 20142014-07-04A photograph inside a home shrine with a dark wooden wall panel. A figure in saffron-orange sleeveless robes wearing a long white flower garland with green leaves holds a brass oil lamp with a lit flame toward a large framed picture of a golden deity murti in an arch, with a red background, garlanded with pink and white flowers. Below, smaller framed deity images are decorated with garlands, and a framed photograph in a garland sits at the lower right. To the left, another person in orange robes stands with palms pressed together in prayer near a window. Brass dishes and a small lamp rest on the stone ledge. The shrine picture is a deity murti, so the scene is a devotional lamp offering. The figure with the lamp has long dark hair, orange clothing, a white garland and a sheer orange wrap, consistent with a person presentation, while the person praying at left is a devotee.2010-02-16October 26 20112011-10-26July 07 20142014-07-07 +1 copiesAn empty room with white walls and a polished pale floor is set up as a small shrine. A red velvet-draped altar holds three framed black-and-white portraits garlanded with white and red flower strands and lit from above. Beside it stands a large framed color portrait of a smiling man with an orange turban and orange robe, wearing a flower garland, resting on a red cloth. A brass tray of flower petals, small steel plates, a brass vessel and a garlanded figure sit on the floor in front of the altar. No people are visible.2014-07-03 +1 copiesA photograph of an indoor shrine room with white walls. A person with long dark hair, wearing an orange sleeveless top, an orange dhoti-style wrap and a marigold garland, holds a lit oil lamp aloft in one hand while a small brass bell is in the other. Beside them, a second person in orange robes with a shawl stands with palms pressed together in prayer. Framed devotional paintings of deities hang on the wall, with yellow marigold garlands draped over the frames. On a dark stone altar are brass trays of fruit, a pink flower heap, a brass kalasha-style pot, a brass lamp and a framed portrait of a seated figure with a flower garland. The scene reads as puja and aarti.2010-02-16
