A red metal frame structure against a pale blue sky with clouds. A red clay pot, used as a handi for dahi-handi, hangs from a pulley on a rope at the centre of the crossbar. No people are visible, and the frame has no visible deity, throne or a person figure.

A photograph of a red metal frame with a small pulley hanging from a red ring, carrying a rope that drops down the right side. A reddish-brown clay pot is suspended from the pulley against a pale blue, cloudy sky, with a blurred tree and a distant reddish structure at the bottom edge. No people are visible. The image appears to show a pulley-and-pot apparatus, with no visible ritual, a person or event activity.

A close photograph of a person in an orange shirt raising a terracotta pot, a clay matka, on a rope overhead. The raised arm wears a red thread and a gold bangle, and the hand steadies the pot from below. The person's shaved head and small hoop earring are visible at the right edge, and a blurred green tree background with a red structure and out-of-focus onlookers in white caps and orange clothing fills the rest of the frame.

A photograph of a rust-coloured metal frame with a pulley and rope. A clay pot wrapped in red cloth and topped with a yellow flower garland hangs from the rope against a pale sky. A small floodlight stands at the lower left edge. No people are visible.

A photograph of a shaved-headed man in an orange saffron shirt and rudraksha mala holding up a terracotta pot suspended on a white rope, with a dark red-brown offering inside. He wears a red tilak on his forehead and an earring, and is smiling. Behind him, a blurred crowd of people in white and orange clothing watches, with green foliage and a red-roofed building in the background. The pot hanging from a rope suggests a Janmashtami dahi handi style celebration.

A photograph of a clay pot hanging from a rusty orange metal frame against a pale cloudy sky. The earthen pot is tied with white cord and wrapped at its rim with white cloth, suspended from a hook on the horizontal bar. No people or a person candidate are visible.

Outdoor photo looking up at a crossed pair of wooden poles and ropes from which several painted terracotta pots hang, each wrapped in white cloth and decorated with blue, green, red and yellow painted shapes. Pale overcast sky and a palm frond at the lower left edge. No people are visible. The pots resemble the hanging clay pots used in Holi-season celebrations, though the scene itself shows only the suspended pots.

Outdoor festival scene on bare reddish-brown ground with puddles. In the left foreground a bare-chested man with long dark hair, wearing an orange wrap, stands with arms outstretched, facing a wooden frame. A rope runs from the frame toward him, and a small clay pot hangs from a crossbar on a tall wooden pole. Behind him a crowd of about twenty men stands in a loose line: several wear saffron-orange dhotis and shirts, others wear white kurtas and white dhotis, and a few wear dark clothing. Some watch intently and some clap. Tall trees, a blue metal framework and a thatched structure stand in the background under a pale sky.

Outdoor photo on dry dirt ground beside a shallow puddle. In the foreground a bare-chested man with long dark hair wears an orange-saffron dhoti and holds a long rope, pointing toward a wooden frame. A clay pot hangs from a crossbar on tall wooden posts. Beside it a man in an orange shirt and white dhoti stands with a long orange cloth. Behind them a large crowd of about forty men in white, orange and dark clothes stands watching under a pale sky with trees and a metal scaffold at the left edge.

Outdoor Janmashtami scene at an ashram courtyard under an overcast sky. Two tall red poles support a rope from which a clay pot (matka) hangs high. A young man in an orange shirt and red trousers leaps upward, reaching for the pot, while others in red and orange clothes and white trousers hold brass pots and bells below. Women in orange saris and gold jewellery stand at right, and a row of spectators in white and orange watch. Behind them a red-draped table and a throne-like seat with a decorated canopy sit beneath a tiled roof. This is the dahi handi pot-breaking game of Krishna Janmashtami.
