A man in white dhoti and white shirt with a yellow sash bends over a black stone pedestal, pouring water from a brass pot over a Shiva lingam. Behind him, golden statues of a deity with a trident, crown and orange turban, and a companion figure in a green and pink sari, stand beneath an ornate gold arch draped in orange cloth and garlanded with yellow, red and purple flowers. A small golden shri yantra stands on a wooden stool at the base. A white statue or figure in pink wrap sits at the right edge. The scene is an abhishekam at a temple shrine.2010-01-24A priest in a white dhoti and white shirt with a yellow sash stands bent forward at a dark stone pedestal, pouring water from a brass pot over a golden shri yantra on a small wooden stand, a ritual bathing of the sacred geometry. Behind him an arched gilded frame surrounds a pair of golden-faced deity murti seated against an orange curtain: the male figure wears an orange turban and holds a trident, the female figure wears a pink sari and both are garlanded with yellow, purple and red flower strings. Brass oil lamps stand at left and a small pink-draped figure sits at right. The scene is a temple puja with abhishekam.2010-01-24 +1 copiesA priest in white dhoti and white shirt with a yellow sash bends over a black stone shivalinga, pouring water from a brass vessel onto it in an abhishekam. A figure in a long orange robe with long curly hair pours the water over a dark linga-shaped base, with a white marble seated figure and a small golden deity figure below. Another person in orange stands partly visible at the left edge. The deities are murti, not living people. Dark stone, gold ornaments and a red kumkum-coloured drape dominate the scene.2010-02-12A photograph of an abhishekam at a golden-arched shrine.
