The figures wear jeweled crowns, pearl and bead necklaces and bright garlands of yellow and red flowers. Both stand on a blue draped base before a golden pedestal bearing a kalasha-like object, with red, yellow and white flower garlands, brass oil lamps on stands and a bowl of fruit in front.2010-06-30July 02 20132013-07-02June 30 20102010-06-30A photograph inside a temple shrine showing a seated priest in white dhoti and a sacred thread, bare-chested and kneeling at a ritual altar, handling offerings and bowls. Behind him are large painted sculptures of a deity pair: a figure with a trident and a ceremonial headdress and a consort in white and red with garlands, set in front of a bright orange-red cloth and a gold arch. A large silver-and-gold vessel with a red garland and a decorated mound stands in front. Brass lamps flank the altar. At right, a smaller figure in saffron-orange robes stands in a gold niche with a lamp; this is a depiction, not a physical person. Visible rituals appear to be puja offerings.2013-03-22April 17 20132013-04-17 +2 copies
