In the foreground stand several tall brass lamp stands with rooster-shaped finials and multi-tiered bowls, each holding flickering flames. A row of small lit oil lamps runs up a dark wall in the background, and at right a gilded altar frame is decorated with garlands of marigolds and other flowers. No people are visible. The dim setting and warm light suggest a temple worship area.2011-12-11November 16 20092009-11-16A photograph of a satsang stage with a brass statue and a seated man on a garlanded, gilded throne. On the left, a small golden statue in saffron drapery stands on a throne wrapped in garlands of yellow, white and purple flowers. On the right, a man in a saffron turban and saffron robe with a beaded rudraksha-style necklace sits cross-legged on a red-cushioned, gilded throne decorated with white and yellow garlands. Rose petals are scattered on the floor.2010-12-26A stage set for a satsang on a raised white platform with a white and draped backdrop of red, green, and dark drapes above. On the left, a deity murti in a golden crowned form, wearing a yellow garment and ornaments, sits on a golden throne decorated with multicoloured and white garlands. On the right, a seated man in a yellow turban, yellow robes, and a long beaded necklace sits on an ornate gold throne with a red cushion and a colourful canopy; the figure appears to be a presiding teacher, and whether he is the a person candidate is not clear from appearance alone. Brass oil lamps stand between the thrones, and small red flowers decorate the drapes. A gold-framed podium sits at the front.2010-12-26Empty stage set for a satsang with an ornately decorated golden throne (peetha) at centre, draped in red velvet and garlanded with marigolds and white flowers, topped by a striped canopy. To the left, a golden pedestal holds a blue deity murti garlanded with flowers. Brass oil lamps (diyas) with lit flames stand on both sides, a small open book sits on a stand, and an Om symbol is painted on the backdrop. No people are visible.2010-12-26A photograph of an empty ceremonial throne, or peetha, decorated for an event. The gilded wooden throne has a deep red velvet seat and back and is framed by an arch of garlands in yellow, white, purple and green flowers. White jasmine garlands drape across the front of the platform, and a microphone stand stands beside it. Ornately carved gold panels flank the throne, and tall brass oil lamps with lit flames stand at either side against a backdrop of red and orange woven mats with patterns. No people are visible.2010-12-27Close view of a temple shrine during a ritual, dominated by two lit brass oil lamps in the foreground, one with a small figurine on its stem, with bright flames.
