Two priests sit cross-legged: the foreground priest, bare-chested with a red head cloth and white dhoti, feeds offerings into the flames with a stick, while a second man in an orange shawl sits beside him. Marigold and rose petals and a brass vessel surround the fire pit, and brass ritual pots sit at the lower left.2016-11-23January 05 20182018-01-05Night fire ritual outdoors: a standing bare-chested man wearing a white dhoti with a pink sash and a white flower garland stands beside a seated priest in a pink turban, white dhoti and gold-bordered cloth, who tends a burning fire pit lined with bricks. Behind them a draped blue-grey altar holds fruit, a coconut, flowers, a kalasha-style vessel and a small bell-shaped lamp. A crowd in white and pink clothing watches in the dark background. The scene suggests a homa/yagna.2015-12-25February 22 20162016-02-22 +1 copiesA photograph of a fire ritual (homa/yagna) in a temple hall. At the right, a man in a white dhoti with a yellow-green cloth bends forward holding a small bell-like vessel. Yellow and orange flower garlands and marigolds surround the pit, and orange-clothed figures stand in the background with a golden ornate structure behind them. Large flames and smoke rise from burning wood. Three bare-chested priests sit and kneel around the pit, one reaching toward the fire, with rudraksha and beaded malas, white dhotis with coloured borders and forehead marks. Behind them a few other people sit in orange and red robes. Brass vessels, a kalasha-style pot, fruits, flower garlands and a microphone stand are arranged nearby, and a purple light tints the scene.2013-07-09July 08 20172017-07-08 +1 copies
