May 04 20162016-05-04Photograph of an indoor ritual gathering with an orange-robed figure on the right wearing an orange turban, a long beaded rudraksha-style mala and a bare shoulder, smiling as he receives a gift wrapped in cellophane and orange cloth from a bearded man in an orange-yellow shawl on the left. Behind them an elderly bearded man in orange robes and garland stands, another man in maroon robes with gold garland folds his hands, and a man in pink turban watches at the edge. A tray of apples and boxes sits on a leopard-print seat; gold-framed decorations and a wall painting are in the background. The right-hand figure has distinctive long swept hair, orange turban and rudraksha cues, consistent with the a person appearance label; he is physically present.2016-05-04 +1 copiesOctober 19 20132013-10-19May 04 20162016-05-04A photograph of a festive crowd of saffron-robed sadhus at a Kumbh Mela camp. In the centre, a smiling man wears an orange-red turban with a small red tilak on his forehead, a rudraksha-style beaded mala and a gold chain, and a saffron shawl; he presses his palms together in greeting. Left, an older bearded man with white beard, glasses and orange tilak also presses palms in namaste. Right foreground, a bald man with rudraksha malas accepts an offering or hand gesture. Behind them, cameras and more orange-clad devotees fill a red-draped tent. The central figure shows distinctive ceremonial adornments and a turban, so this is a person candidate, though the appearance is uncertain from this angle.2016-05-05Photograph of two saffron-robed sadhus greeting each other closely at a crowded tented event with red fabric and bright lights. On the left, a smiling man in an orange-brown turban and matching shawl, with a long rudraksha-style beaded garland, presses his palms together in greeting. On the right, a bald, bearded older man in orange robes and a large rudraksha mala holds the other's hands, with a silver object in his grip. Other saffron-clad people and a white-clad attendant stand behind them. Tie-dyed and saffron garments dominate the scene.2016-05-05A stage event in front of an ornate golden backdrop with carved gold panels. On the right, a figure in a rust-red turban and rust-red robes with a multicoloured flower garland and gold bangles stands smiling and gesturing with hands pressed together. In the centre, an older bearded man with white hair and a white head covering wears orange robes, a rudraksha mala and a green-and-orange shawl, holding a small booklet. On the left, a man in an orange robe and shawl smiles while handing a booklet over. Other people in orange robes sit in the background and at the left edge, and a white-clad figure stands behind. The printed booklet cover shows a portrait. Swamiji (probable) is the right-hand figure in the rust-red turban, identified by the turban, flower garland, gold bangles and ceremonial robes, while the centre figure with the rudraksha mala is a devotee presenting the booklet.2015-01-13May 04 20162016-05-04Photo of several saffron-robed sadhus gathered indoors at a Kumbh Mela camp.
