A photograph of seated devotees during a discourse in a large hall. In the foreground a bald man in white ritual clothes with a red-beaded rudraksha mala and glasses sits cross-legged, writing in a small notebook with a pen. Beside him a bare-chested man wears a white dhoti with orange border and takes notes, and another man in white writes in a notebook. Behind them many people sit writing, and small bags with a deity image print lie at the front. A large orange and white ceremonial backdrop and a red light sign are visible. No candidate for a person is distinctly identifiable by appearance.

A seated man in a white embroidered kurta and white trousers writes with a pencil in an open notebook on his lap. He wears a red beaded mala around his neck and a vibhuti mark on his forehead. Behind him, several people sit on mats in a hall, including two men in white with orange shawls, one bald and writing in a notebook. The floor is covered with pink and colourful mats, and a warm red light glows in the background. Appearance cues are limited to a red mala and white attire, so the central writer is described as a participant rather than identified.
