September 22 20092009-09-22A close photograph of two bare hands and bare feet of workers seated on the dirt ground, holding and shaping a large cylindrical metal vessel with a flared rim. The metal has a mottled, patinated surface of grey, copper-orange and pinkish tones, with a band of reddish-maroon marking near the lower edge. A metal tray or plate with a carved, dark patina sits in the upper right corner. The setting appears to be an outdoor or workshop floor of reddish earth, consistent with metal casting work at a sacred arts workspace. No a person candidate is visible in the frame.2006-12-10Close-up photo of a foot-shaped object lying on a dusty concrete floor. A pale white plaster or clay foot with clearly formed toes emerges from a wrapping of thin copper-coloured sheet metal, which is folded and tinted with orange and purple oxidation. Beneath the metal lies a sheet of old printed newspaper. A metal rod or pipe runs across the top left corner and a wooden board sits at the lower left edge. No people are visible.2009-09-03June 23 20132013-06-23July 01 20132013-07-01A barefoot man in a white dhoti and sleeveless white vest crouches on a concrete floor, working on a flat golden-brown metal sheet with a repoussé floral pattern, pressing it with his hand. Around him lie metal tools, a small anvil-like block, a crumpled paper bag, scrap newspaper and a carved gilded wooden panel leaning against the wall at right. A white wooden bench stands at left. The setting is a workshop-like room used for craft work.2009-09-22Close photo of a seated man's hands working on a reddish clay pot or vessel resting on a flat stone surface, with a wooden tool or hammer above and a stone block beside him. He wears white cloth with gold trim and a rudraksha mala, and a small round pendant with a portrait hangs on his chest. Only his hands, legs and upper body are visible, and his face is not shown.2009-12-19Making Of Sacred Arts UniversityTwo men sit barefoot on bare ground working on a metal sculpture. The man on the left wears a white shirt and light blue jeans and uses a chisel-like tool on the metal. The man on the right wears a teal-grey shirt, a mustard-yellow dhoti with yellow border, and a red thread on his wrist, holding a hammer. Behind them sit sacks, copper-coloured pots and other tools on the dusty ground. No deity form is clearly identifiable from this view.2009-12-13Close photograph of a worker seated on a concrete floor, using a hammer and chisel. He wears a red top and a blue and white checked lungi, and his bare foot rests on the ground. A white-clad figure in a white shirt with a dark patterned border and orange cloth stands partially visible at the right edge. A brush and a wooden stick lie on the floor nearby.2007-05-27A photograph taken at night on bare reddish earth showing one man seated cross-legged, working on a wooden log with a wooden-handled mallet and a chisel. He wears a white shirt and white trousers over a yellow undershirt, with a white cloth at his waist. Around him lie scattered metal tools, a flat bronze-coloured sheet, a stone mortar and a plastic water bottle. A watermarked corner has been ignored. No person in the frame is identified as a person.2006-12-10A photograph of a stone carver at an outdoor work area with sandy ground and an orange-painted building behind. A man in a white sleeveless undershirt and white cloth kneels and strikes a chisel with a hammer against a large grey stone block. Two standing men beside him wear an orange cloth with yellow borders on the left and white dhotis with red borders on the right. A metal sink and a hammer head in the foreground frame the scene.
