A seated group of devotees in saffron-orange robes with maroon borders sits in prayer at an ashram gathering. In the foreground, a shaved-headed man in orange with a maroon shawl and a gold-toned ornament on a rudraksha-style necklace presses his palms together in namaste, eyes lowered. Beside him, a bearded older man with a red tilak on his forehead and a beaded necklace sits with his hands resting in his lap. Another shaved-headed man in orange is partly visible at the lower right, and a woman in orange sits at the left edge. Behind them, more participants sit in orange and white clothing, and a pale pink container and small bowls sit on the floor in front. The scene is a quiet moment of satsang or puja.2010-10-18September 15 20112011-09-15Several shaven-headed monks in saffron and orange robes sit in a row with palms pressed together in anjali mudra at a satsang. The foreground figure wears an orange saffron wrap draped over his shoulder, a rudraksha mala around his neck and beaded bracelets, with white sacred ash lines on his forehead and white stripes painted across his bare upper arm and chest. Beside him, a second man in an orange wrap sits with eyes closed, and a row of others in orange clothing sits behind on a white cloth before ritual offerings and small lamps. A blurred crowd fills the background of this hall. No clear identity cue for a person is established by appearance, so the foreground devotees are described by role only.2017-01-12Photograph of several young men in saffron-orange monastic robes seated cross-legged in a hall during a puja.
