A figure in a bright orange-red turban, orange-red robe, a long white and maroon flower garland and a gold pendant stands centre-right holding a green leaf; the garland and orange clothing give an appearance-based probable Swamiji. Around him, men in white dhotis and white shirts smile, one with a gold bangle; a woman in a sari with a gold border kneels at lower centre, and a woman in orange robe and a young man in orange shawl stand at right, all in orange sannyasi-style clothing. A white plastic chair sits near the doorway. Swamiji (probable) is the central figure receiving the greeting.2008-07-27A photograph inside a decorated home interior with multicoloured tinsel and flower garlands strung along the walls and doorway. Several devotees in white dhotis and shirts and a woman in a white sari with gold border stand at left and centre with palms pressed together in anjali, greeting the visitor. A seated figure in the lower right wears an orange-red sleeveless top and an orange cloth, with long dark hair falling past the shoulders; he is seen from behind and the side. Standing around him are several people: a woman in a red blouse and orange-yellow patterned sari with gold bangles and hands folded in greeting; a man in an olive-green uniform shirt with rank insignia on the left; a young man in a white kurta and dhoti with an orange-red cloth across his shoulder; another man in a white shirt and black beaded necklace; and an older man in a white shirt with a rudraksha-style mala. A man in a white kurta with glasses and a dark beaded necklace stands at right, and several onlookers in saris, salwar and shirts stand behind them. Yellow paper-cut leaves hang along the doorframe, and framed pictures are visible on the left wall. The figure in the orange robe and beaded garland shows distinctive ceremonial cues, but the appearance is not conclusive enough to confirm identity, so this is a role-based description of an orange-robed sannyasi receiving an offering.2009-09-15December 30 20092009-12-30Indoor photograph of a religious ceremony in a pink-walled room with a framed deity print on the wall and a brass oil lamp at right. A woman in a red and gold sari holds a brass plate of lit oil lamps toward the robed man, while other women in white and a red-clad woman stand nearby.
