A festive procession in an open courtyard with bright orange and yellow ceremonial umbrellas and orange flags. At centre, a young man wearing a thick red and white flower garland and an orange cloth smiles while walking between attendants. Beside him, a man in white dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala carries a golden staff with a pointed finial. Devotees in white shirts and orange sashes and onlookers, including children and women in colourful saris, line the procession. A brick wall with a blue-and-white bird emblem on the umbrellas forms the backdrop. The scene is a KAILASA youth-day or birthday procession.2010-12-22December 29 20102010-12-29December 31 20092009-12-31A procession on a dirt road during a Brahmotsavam celebration. A central figure in a saffron-orange robe and a purple-and-white flower garland walks forward with arms slightly raised, wearing a gold pendant necklace and long swept-back hair. Flanking him, men in saffron robes carry tall golden staffs under ornate umbrellas with orange and blue fringed panels. Women in white saris with gold borders walk alongside, one carrying a brass tray of flowers, and one wearing a yellow shawl. Onlookers and marchers fill the background. A central man with long dark hair, a red-and-white tilak and a red-and-white flower garland over an orange robe and gold necklace, smiles and raises one hand in greeting. Around him, men in orange and saffron robes and rudraksha malas walk with ceremonial golden staffs topped with fans and tridents, and carry a tray of flowers. Women in white and blue saris and a Western woman in white follow. Orange and red embroidered umbrella-like banners with a white dove emblem hang on tall poles. A signboard stands behind. The central figure has distinctive long hair, saffron robe and gold ornaments, but appearance alone is not conclusive.2012-01-01January 12 20092009-01-12June 07 20162016-06-07December 28 20082008-12-28 +1 copies
