Women in orange and rust-red saris with white vertical forehead marks sit cross-legged on a tiled floor, palms pressed together in anjali mudra with eyes closed. Rudraksha malas hang around their necks. In front of them are banana leaves holding rice, fried snacks, vegetables and sweets, with small white paper cups of liquid, consistent with a food offering during a puja. Other devotees in orange sit behind them, and a palm-leaf plate sits in the foreground. The scene appears to be a sannyasi-style ritual meal in a hall.

Several women have their eyes closed in meditative absorption, while others look ahead. Behind them, a seated audience in white and coloured clothing fills the hall, and a blue draped stage backdrop appears at the upper left. Several dozen people are visible, with the foreground group the most prominent.

Several have hands folded or resting in their laps, and banana-leaf plates with food, steel cups and bowls sit in front of them. A small raised lectern stands at the left edge, and more seated devotees in orange appear in the background near the doorways.
