Most attendees are women in colourful saris and salwar kameez, along with some men in white shirts, seen from behind. A large screen on the left shows a close-up of a figure in orange and white robes with a rudraksha mala. The stage has a white canopy, floral decorations and a banner with Tamil script, flanked by floodlights and a second tent beyond. The sky is dusky blue.

Bright floodlights light the field and strings of bulbs cross overhead. At the far end, a decorated red-and-gold stage with a central canopy and arch is lit, and a figure sits at its centre, too small and distant to describe with confidence. Banners and a signboard stand at the left edge. The gathering is visibly very large but the dense crowd cannot be counted individually.2010-01-08
