December 27 20132013-12-27A photograph of a ceremonial puja at an outdoor pandal decorated with marigold garlands and a blue backdrop. A figure seated on an ornate silver throne wears a golden crown, a red and orange striped garment, and a red-and-yellow flower garland; the figure's appearance is consistent with a candidate for the depicted a person but is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm. Around the throne, devotees sit on black cloth holding brass plates and oil lamps, including women in red, white and orange saris, a shaved-headed child in orange, and a man in an orange shirt. A cameraman on a tripod stands at upper right. Brass vessels and lamps are arranged before the throne.2013-12-27July 15 20112011-07-15A padapuja ceremony under a red and pink draped tent. On the right, a large ornate golden throne-like seat holds a figure in saffron-orange robes and a gold crown, with a long garland of yellow, red and purple flowers draped over it. Golden metal plates with flower petals and offerings sit in front. Devotees kneel and sit on green mats: a woman in an orange sari with a mala, a man in a white shirt with hands folded, a young woman in white with palms pressed together, and a man in orange at right, with a seated figure in white and a turban behind a microphone at left. A golden serpent hood ornament stands above the seat, and a tall white air cooler sits at left.2011-07-15August 04 20142014-08-04A large silver-toned deity murti of a seated figure, draped with a long garland of yellow, orange and purple flowers, is the focus of a ritual. A woman in a rust-orange sari with a gold crown sits at the left side of the murti. Along the right, several devotees in orange, red and white clothing hold small brass lamps, aarti vessels and lit wicks toward the murti, while others sit on the floor around a low platform holding silver plates and bowls of offerings. Silver plates and bowls of offerings sit on a golden table in front, with flowers among them. Several devotees in orange and red saris and robes sit on the floor with hands folded in namaste, and a bare-headed man in orange kneels at left. A golden deity murti stands in the background among garlands, under a red-and-white canopy. The seated figure's appearance is consistent with a person cued by the crown, ornate silver throne, garlanded and ceremonially adorned presentation, and his role as the one being honoured in a puja setting.2013-12-27December 27 20132013-12-27A photograph of a temple-style ritual in a tented hall. Around him on the red carpet sit about ten devotees in white, red and patterned clothing, several wearing rudraksha malas, some with hands folded or offering brass plates of flowers, red kumkum and petals before the throne, consistent with a padapuja. Swamiji (probable) is the seated figure, identified by long swept-back hair, saffron robes, ceremonial garland and throne. Sheer gold drapes hang at the top right and a potted plant stands at the back.2014-08-04December 27 20132013-12-27
