Outdoors on bare red earth with patchy grass, a shaven-headed man in white ritual cloth sits cross-legged on a mat beside a square fire pit built of yellow-painted bricks with a small flame, flower petals scattered on the bricks. He holds a small bell and a spoon-like implement over offerings. Behind him a framed portrait stands garlanded with red and yellow flower garlands and green leaves, with a brass vessel holding a plant in front of it. A brass plate with flowers and a small lamp lies nearby, and a few people and a parked car are visible in the background. The man wears a rudraksha mala and appears to perform a homa or puja. The man's appearance is not a distinctive a person candidate.2011-11-12Photo 11731556 +1 copiesOutdoor photo of a small concrete plinth on bare brown earth with patches of green grass. Two framed portrait photographs stand on the plinth, draped with a red flower garland. A white cloth covers the ground in front, holding a small bowl of offerings, two brass or steel objects, a few small cups and a dish of flowers and leaves. A young bare tree stands to the right. No people are visible. The portraits show two men: the left in a white shirt against a blue backdrop, the right in an orange robe with long dark hair. Both appearances are uncertain, so no identification is made.2011-11-11A shaven-headed man sits cross-legged on a mat on bare, scorched earth, eyes closed and hands folded in his lap, in meditation. He wears white dhoti and shawl with red-bordered edges and a red rudraksha mala around his neck, plus a silver bracelet on one wrist. Behind him lie scattered logs and a patch of grass. A partially visible person in white sits at the left edge of the frame. The setting suggests an outdoor meditation or fire-ritual site, with ash-marked ground around the mat.2010-09-08November 11 20112011-11-11April 30 20122012-04-30Outdoor ritual on bare red earth beneath a striped purple, green and white canopy. In the foreground a bare-chested priest in white dhoti pours liquid or applies offerings near a small grey stone set in mounded red soil, decorated with red, white and yellow flower garlands and scattered petals. A man in white shirt and dhoti, with an ash-marked face, holds flowers and a bowl beside him. Behind them a seated crowd of devotees, many in orange and red clothing, sits under the tent while a man in white with a camera stands among them. Trees and a few onlookers in shirts stand in the background.2017-02-03Outdoor fire ritual on bare red earth in an open field under a clear sky. A shaved-headed priest in plain white dhoti and shawl sits cross-legged at a fire pit built from yellow-painted bricks, feeding the flames from a bowl beside him; a small microphone stands by him. Tied to a pole is a framed portrait garlanded with yellow marigolds and red and green flowers, set on a low table with a brass vessel and a sprig plant. Trays of dried twigs and leaves lie on a mat in front. A woman in an orange blouse with a long braid sits at the lower right, facing the fire. Blue plastic chairs and a shaded canopy with pennant strips appear in the background.2011-11-12December 17 20112011-12-17April 30 20122012-04-30A seated man in saffron-orange robes sits on a woven mat on a rocky hillside among shrubs and palms. Beside him, a white-and-red garlanded shrine with a seated deity murti under a colourful striped umbrella canopy with tassels. Large boulders surround the shrine on dry earth, with hillside houses visible in the background.2008-05-19A photograph of an outdoor shrine under a white-pillared open pavilion with potted plants behind. A framed portrait on a stand, garlanded with a red-and-white flower garland, shows a long-haired figure in orange robes; the portrait is a depiction. Beneath it sits a worship table with a brass trident, a kalasha-like vessel wrapped in a colourful garland, brass lamps and scattered pink petals. Two men kneel before the altar performing puja: the nearer man in a white dhoti and orange shawl holds a small object, and the other, wearing a yellow shawl, holds a brass vessel and offerings. A red patterned rug covers the floor, and a red-cushioned wicker chair stands at the side.
