A bare-backed priest with a wrapped dark headcloth stands at left, arms raised high, pouring liquid from a conch-like vessel over the head of a gold-coloured utsava murthi statue. The statue has a smooth bald head, a calm smiling face, a red-and-dark bead necklace, and a raised right palm. Ornate gilded carvings fill the background. A bare-backed priest with long dark hair tied up and a cloth wrap around his waist stands on the left, raising both arms to pour liquid from a conch-shaped vessel over a golden metal murti. The golden murti is a standing bare-chested figure with a rudraksha mala around its neck and a dhoti at the waist, its palms raised in blessing. Behind it is an ornately carved gold-coloured temple backdrop with floral scrollwork. Warm lamplight falls over the scene.2021-12-21A golden metal statue of a standing sage with bare chest and a yellow-gold dhoti tied at the waist stands in front of a ritual setup. The statue's raised right hand shows an abhaya-style gesture, and a hand from the left side of the frame pours or presses a yellow paste onto the statue's head. Behind it are yellow and purple flower garlands, white draped cloth, and a blurred orange-clad figure, with a stone ledge and a small metal bowl at the lower left. The statue is an image, not a living person, so it is shown as a depiction.2010-12-19August 23 20182018-08-23March 03 20112011-03-03 +1 copiesA photograph of an abhishekam ritual at a golden temple shrine. A shirtless priest wearing an orange-saffron dhoti and a saffron head wrap, with a rudraksha mala draped over his shoulders, pours water from a brass vessel over the head of a golden deity murti with a bearded face and mustache. The murti sits in a gilded arched niche with ornate carved golden surrounds. The priest is the only visible person; the deity is a statue, not a living person, and no candidate for a person is physically present.2022-01-01A photograph of an abhishekam ritual. A priest in orange robes on the left pours water from a green coconut over a gold-coloured statue of a standing sage with raised right hand in abhaya mudra and a golden dhoti. Behind them, a purple and white backdrop is decorated with yellow and purple marigold garlands, with brass vessels and a kalasha on a stone platform.
