In the foreground a bare-chested man in an orange cloth draped over his shoulder holds a white woven-wrapped pot in his left hand and sprinkles water from a bundle of green mango or leafy twigs held in his raised right arm, sending a spray of droplets through the air. Behind him a large seated crowd of men in white dhotis and white shawls, many bare-chested with sacred threads and beaded necklaces, sits on the ground.
