Numerous small clay oil lamps burn around the base and on the surrounding dirt ground. A tall pink and white flower garland hangs on a stand to the left. A black stone sign with gold lettering in Kannada script sits at the front of the plinth. No people are visible.2015-11-25A photograph of a ritual at a stone shrine: a priest in an orange-saffron cloth and bare arm holds a brass multi-wick oil lamp with several burning flames in front of a dark black stone deity murti (Shiva linga-form) dressed with an orange cloth, a white shawl, a garland of white flowers and a red flower. The priest's hand is raised near the lamp flames, and the dark stone shrine walls with a small offering tray are visible, consistent with an aarti or puja. Only the priest's arm and part of his body are visible; no face is shown.2012-05-18 +1 copiesDecember 12 20162016-12-12A dark photograph of a black stone Shivalingam on a dark pedestal, with a small brass oil lamp with a cobra-hood shaped top lit in front of it. No people are visible.2012-10-17October 26 20162016-10-26 +1 copiesMay 18 20122012-05-18 +1 copiesClose-up photograph of a tall brass multi-flame oil lamp (deepa) with several lit wicks, its upper bowl topped with an ornate decorative finial. White jasmine-style flower garlands and red-orange flowers are wrapped around the lamp stem, with a white and yellow flower at the top. Behind it, softly blurred, stands a dark deity murti with a crown-like headdress and ornate ornaments. The lamp is the clear focus.2010-09-20May 12 20122012-05-12 +1 copiesBlurred photograph of a brass lamp stand holding five lit oil lamps in the foreground, their flames rising tall against a warm yellow background. Behind the lamps, a dark deity murti or sacred figure is draped with a white flower garland, with a pink floral offering at the top of the frame. Thin wisps of incense smoke curl upward. The scene suggests an aarti or puja before a murti. No people are visible.2012-05-13
