A close-up photograph of a black stone Nandi, the seated bull sculpture that faces a Shiva shrine, at a temple. The bull has large carved eyes and ears, a forehead marked with yellow and red kumkum/turmeric paste, and a nose and mouth smeared with the same markings. It wears a white jasmine garland across its neck and long red flower garlands draped down its chest and front legs, with green grass or leaves woven in. A small cluster of yellow marigolds rests at its base. Stone pillars and a blurred background frame the figure. No people are visible.2011-09-26A large black stone Nandi bull statue sits at a temple, facing forward.
