Photograph of a dhvajarohanam flag-hoisting ceremony. A tall copper flagstaff rises from an ornate carved wooden base wrapped with yellow and red marigold garlands and leafy greenery, with a small saffron and red flag near the top. Two men stand at the right: one in a rust-orange robe with a reddish turban and gold necklace, pulling a white rope that runs up the pole, and another in a brown top and orange wrap with long dark hair, holding a woven basket of white cloth. A coconut palm and light sky fill the background.

A man with long dark hair, bare-shouldered in a maroon-red cloth, wears red and yellow flower garlands and gold chains while hauling the pole's rope upward with both arms. A white-shirted onlooker stands at right, and a few people are partially visible at the lower left near the base, under a metal roof edge and palm trees. Visible people are about six.
