October 19 20082008-10-19Outdoors under a bright blue sky with scattered trees, a man in a saffron-orange robe and sleeveless orange top stands at right, smiling and looking down toward rows of black stone lingams. Hundreds of black Shiva lingams sit on white cloth-wrapped bases in long rows across red earth, some garlanded with flowers and red cords. A white tent edge and wooden posts with red string frame the left side, with a fence and palm trees behind. The scene suggests an abhishekam or lingam installation display.2008-10-19January 08 20102010-01-08May 17 20112011-05-17December 09 20112011-12-09September 26 20112011-09-26Night photograph of a large outdoor courtyard filled with rows of identical Shiva lingams. Each lingam is a dark stone shaft on a round base, wrapped in white cloth with a rudraksha-style mala draped around it, set on a bright yellow and orange-edged cloth. Strings of small lights and tall floodlights illuminate the area. Two people walk across the left side: one in a white dhoti with a yellow shawl, and another in an orange dhoti and red top. A large central lingam stands on a round yoni-style base near the path, and a small white statue sits at the far back. The scene suggests a consecration or abhishekam-style arrangement of lingams.2009-08-03April 17 20112011-04-17August 06 20092009-08-06July 03 20122012-07-03December 09 20112011-12-09Outdoor ritual on a flat white-paved ground filled with rows of black stone shivalingams set on yoni pitha bases. In the foreground a person in orange robes with a yellow-and-white flower garland stands facing the lingams, back to the camera. Another orange-robed figure stands further left among the lingams. Behind them a large crowd of devotees in white and orange clothing stands in the open, a tall flagpole with an orange and white flag at left, under a heavy overcast sky with green trees and tent structures at the edges.2008-08-01
