A night photograph of a procession walking along a sandy, dug-up path beside a tree whose pale branches are lit from the left. Many people in white clothing walk in a long column; several women wear orange or red saris and a few men wear dark shirts. The background is dark with a faint row of lights in the distance and a thin overhead wire. No individual can be reliably identified, so the figures are described by clothing and role as procession participants.

Night-time outdoor photo of a large crowd walking on reddish-brown dirt ground. Most people wear white shirts and white dhotis or white kurtas, with a few in darker or patterned clothing. A white van stands at left, and a red-orange flag on a tall pole rises at right against a dark sky. A small potted plant sits in the foreground. The crowd is moving across the ground in a loose procession.

In the foreground, a bare-chested man with a red cloth wrapped at his waist stands at the right edge beside a person in an orange robe.

A night-time photograph of a group walking in single file along a dirt path through dense dark vegetation during a procession around Arunachala Hill. In the foreground a man in a blue-and-white striped shirt with a yellow lanyard walks at the bottom edge. Beside him a woman in white with an orange-and-yellow shoulder cloth and lanyard, and a young girl in white with a yellow cord, walk closer to the camera. Further back a woman in a white sari with an orange shawl and a yellow-trimmed garment walks at the centre, and many other participants in white clothes with orange and yellow sashes follow along the trail under tree branches.

Night photograph of a group walking along a dirt path lit by a street lamp, passing a leafy tree and a white wall. In the centre, a woman in a saffron-orange robe with a beaded necklace walks among devotees dressed in white dhotis and shirts with orange shawls. At the far right, a man in white raises one arm. Their footwear is bare or minimal. The scene resembles a devotional procession or walk, with no visible deity or ritual objects.

Night photograph of a group of about twenty people in plain white ritual clothes walking single file along a dirt road lit by a distant floodlight. Several women wear white saris with yellow shawls draped over their shoulders, and the men wear white dhotis and white kurta-style shirts. Many wear white lanyards with identification badges around their necks. A man near the front wears a white cloth tied around his forehead. Dark trees, a palm and an orange boundary wall frame the scene. No one in the frame can be identified as a person with confidence.

A night-time photograph of a group of about a dozen people walking across a dirt courtyard beneath a tree with pale flowers. A woman in orange salwar kameez carries a white tote bag, another in orange walks nearby, and men in white kurta-style clothes and pale trousers walk with them. Some carry bags and a small yellow object. Behind them stands a low orange-brick building with a lit doorway under a light fixture, and a tree branch frames the top of the frame.

A night-time walk across a dusty reddish-brown open ground, lit by small torches and phone lights held by several people. In the centre, a bearded man in a long saffron-orange robe and saffron-orange shawl leads a group, with a rudraksha-style necklace visible at his chest. Beside him a figure in orange robes and a second orange-robed person walk ahead, while others in white kurtas and dhotis, some wearing yellow sashes, follow behind. A few people in dark clothing stand at the right edge. Construction debris and piled materials appear on the left in the darkness.
