A bearded man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing a rust-orange wrap, a yellow marigold garland and a dark beaded mala, stands before a red velvet throne with gilded carved arms and smiles as he receives a ritual offering. Facing him, a bare-chested young priest in a yellow dhoti holds a tray with fruit, a coconut and a plate, while a white-clad priest with a multicolour striped shawl and rudraksha mala pours or applies a blessing with his hand. Behind them, devotees in saffron, orange and teal saris stand with hands folded, and a man in a white dhoti stands near the right throne. A gold umbrella hangs at the top right and a red cushioned chair sits beside the throne.2017-02-03A seated figure in a red-orange robe with a bare upper arm and a red-dotted forehead raises one hand in blessing on a white throne-like chair with a seat cushion draped in a red, blue and gold cloth. Long dark hair falls past the shoulders. Beside him, a kneeling man in a white shirt and white dhoti presses his palms together in anjali mudra, with a red tilak on his forehead and a gold bangle on his wrist. Behind them is an orange silk drape with a white and yellow-red flower garland, and a partially visible deity image or framed picture at left. The floor is white tile with offerings at the lower left.2009-02-04A photograph of a pada puja during a house visit. A long-haired man in rust-orange and maroon silk sits on a cushioned seat, his bare right arm extended as he places a hand on the head of an elderly man in white who kneels before him. A woman in white with a floral garland kneels beside them, hands folded in anjali. Behind them a young saffron-robed attendant holds a plate with apples and a sweet, another attendant in white holds a rudraksha mala, and a saffron-robed attendant on the right holds a staff. The room has blue walls, a framed shelf on the left and a white-clothed group in the background.2014-06-22February 01 2009 Kalpataru Convention at Coimbatore City2009-02-01June 22 20142014-06-22A photograph of a large hall where many men sit cross-legged on white mats in white dhotis, bare-chested and wearing rudraksha malas, with white sandal or vibhuti markings on their foreheads and arms. Most have palms pressed together in prayer or anjali, and brass plates, kalasha pots and small offerings with flowers lie before them on the floor. Two men in the foreground have palms folded and eyes closed, one with long hair tied back and a bead necklace. Pillars and wooden doors frame the back wall. Nobody in the image is clearly identifiable as a specific individual, and no figure is clearly a person, so this is a group puja or satsang scene.2017-07-20September 04 20132013-09-04September 16 20132013-09-16Night-time outdoor ritual at Adi Kailasa, Bengaluru. A man in orange robes sits on a red cushioned seat wearing a long brown rudraksha mala, holding a shallow plate, while a man in a white dhoti and orange shawl ties or adjusts a cord around an orange cloth held by another robed attendant. A brass vessel with a green leaf sits on a small wooden table at left. Several devotees in white and orange shawls, some holding rudraksha malas, stand behind. The scene resembles a flag-hoisting or ceremonial tying of a sacred cloth.2008-03-26March 23 20082008-03-23February 03 20172017-02-03
