Dozens of devotees in white clothes sit cross-legged on colourful yoga mats in rows facing the stage, with brass plates of offerings and oil lamps placed before them. Decorative hanging banners and ceiling fans line the space. On the stage, a deity murti or decorated seated figure sits within an ornate golden arch flanked by lamps and flowers. Several seated people appear at the left side, and a figure in orange is visible at the right edge.2009-10-17December 10 20072007-12-10A large hall with a white marble floor set for an annadan-style meal: long rows of banana leaves laid on woven mats, each holding flatbreads, sweets and small cups of water. Gold brass lamps and a bell stand on a tiled plinth in the foreground. At the far end, a raised stage holds a throne-like seat with a framed portrait of a deity or teacher, flanked by a screen and curtains. Orange and white fabric swags with decorative panels hang from the ceiling. About six people in white dhotis and shawls, and a few in saffron robes, move around the hall and stand near the stage, some near the leaves and some at the stage.2011-07-20
