A large group of women in saffron-orange saris with maroon borders and rudraksha malas sit closely together, many holding small lit oil lamps or flames while others have hands folded in prayer. Several have white or ash forehead markings and some wear red or white tilak. Seated in front, young women in orange saris raise lit lamps; a woman in the foreground holds a lamp and a small flame near a brass plate. Some participants wear white or red shawls. The gathering appears to be a devotional ritual with lamps held aloft and offerings on plates. No individual is confidently identifiable as a person in this crowd.2013-12-31 +2 copiesA photo of a seated group of devotees in orange and saffron robes with rudraksha malas, many with white vibhuti markings on their foreheads, performing a puja in an indoor hall.
