Photograph of a crowd of devotees on white and red striped temple steps. A central figure in orange ochre robes wears a long white and red flower garland, a gold pendant necklace, a red headband and sandals; his long hair falls past his shoulders. Around him, men in white kurtas and white dhotis, several with orange shawls and red headbands, stand and crouch; one man in white bends low at the lower left. Behind them stand more men in white shirts and dhotis, some with rudraksha malas, beneath hanging green leaves and a golden trident.2007-12-25December 26 20062006-12-26A barefoot man in saffron-orange robes walks forward in a procession, wearing a long white and red flower garland and a rudraksha mala with gold-toned beads. Behind him, men in white dhotis and white shirts, some with yellow shawls, carry long wooden poles and brass horns. Women in white saris and salwar kameez stand along the left side with palms pressed together in namaskar. The ground is pale hexagonal paving beside a white and red striped platform. A camera operator stands at the right edge.2010-07-26July 07 20092009-07-07A barefoot figure in a long saffron-orange robe with a dark rudraksha mala around the neck walks up steps decorated with white kolam patterns, toward a raised orange-draped platform on the left. Behind him, a line of devotees in white dhotis and shirts stands with hands folded in anjali, some with a yellow shawl. A bare-chested man in white dhoti walks at the front left. Outdoors, a sandy ground holds a small fire or offering area with a tall bamboo pole, a figure in white and orange stands in the distance, and an orange-roofed building with decorations lies behind. A black speaker sits at the right edge. Possibly a satsang or yagna setting; the robed figure is an appearance-based Swamiji candidate with saffron robe, long hair and rudraksha mala.2010-09-12July 26 20102010-07-26July 08 20092009-07-08A procession of barefoot men in saffron-orange robes descends red-painted stone steps beneath a yellow and red umbrella. The central figure, with long dark hair, wears an orange robe, a gold-bead necklace, and a thick white flower garland with red blossoms. To the left, a bald man in orange holds a tall ceremonial staff topped with a silver finial. Behind them, men in white dhotis and yellow shawls and attendants carry items. On the right, another saffron-clad figure walks past. Bamboo scaffolding and a white sack lie on the left side of the steps. A purple logo appears in the upper left corner.2010-07-26July 08 20092009-07-08Outdoor photo of a group seated on granite temple steps. At centre, a man with long dark swept-back hair and a tilak sits cross-legged and barefoot in saffron-orange robes, wearing a white and red flower garland, a gold necklace and a rudraksha-style neck ornament, smiling upward. Around him, men in saffron and white dhotis with gold-bordered shawls, some with shaved heads and tilak, sit and stand; a man at upper left wears a gold necklace. Women in white and orange saris sit at right. Several photographers with cameras stand behind, and a barred pink wall and carved stone pillars frame the scene. Appearance-based candidate: Swamiji (probable), seated centre, identified by long swept-back hair and saffron robes with a flower garland.2010-12-29A photograph of an outdoor ashram scene at a whitewashed building with stone steps. In the centre, a man with long dark hair and a red headband wears a saffron-orange robe and a white and red flower garland, with a gold pendant necklace, and steps down the stairs. To the right, a young attendant in white kurta and orange shawl with an orange headband gestures toward him. On the left, a man in white with an orange shawl stands by a rack of orange flags. A printed painted board on the wall shows a woman in a pink sari pouring water from a pot. Behind them, a crowd of men and boys in white and orange clothing gathers in the doorway beneath sugarcane stalks. The central man has distinctive long swept-back hair, saffron robes, and a garland, which is a probable appearance-based match for Swamiji.2007-12-25A photograph of a temple procession at the steps of an orange-walled building. A man in saffron robes and a white and red flower garland, with gold beaded necklaces and a rudraksha-style bead mala, walks forward smiling. A monk in saffron robes beside him holds a tall silver staff. Behind them, a woman in white with a yellow shawl and a girl in yellow stand near a dark stone deity murti. On the right, a man in white dhoti and shirt stands with palms pressed together. A young boy in an orange t-shirt walks in front. Red-and-white painted steps and a small plant complete the scene.2010-07-26
