September 29 20062006-09-29A white ashram or temple building at night, lit with strings of multicoloured fairy lights along its roofline and in the surrounding shrubs. A tall wooden scaffold or dhwajasthambha frame rises from the roof, with ropes stretched from it, apparently in preparation for a flagpole. A paved path leads up to the entrance steps, flanked by illuminated bushes and palms. No people are visible.2006-09-29September 29 20062006-09-29Night photograph of a illuminated temple approached by a wide flight of dark stone steps flanked by lamp posts and dense trees. The lit shrine has white pillars, a red-tipped gopuram-style tower with lamps on top, and an entrance with a red-and-white hanging garland. Two standing people are visible at the top of the steps near the entrance, one raising an arm; they are small in frame and their clothing is not clearly discernible. No identifiable a person candidate is clearly visible. Below, a covered colonnade with pillars runs across the frame, and a lit lamp or light sits at the base of the tower. A garlanded deity murti or ornamented structure is partly visible in the foreground. A street lamp glows at the left edge, and a few blurred figures stand at the lower left railing. The image is dark and somewhat blurred overall.2006-12-04October 12 20072007-10-12December 04 2006 - Karthikai Deepam, Tiruvannamalai2006-12-04October 12 20072007-10-12Night photograph of a white stone temple shrine approached by a wide flight of grey steps, with a bright burst of sparks and fireworks erupting from the base of the steps in front of the open shrine doorway. Smoke drifts to the right, lit red and orange by a firework, and the scene is flanked by striped yellow and red walls and dark foliage. Scattered paper debris covers the ground at the bottom of the steps, and a small shrine lamp glows beside the entrance.2009-10-17
