A seated man in saffron-orange silk robes performs a puja on a floor covered with a speckled tile, holding a silver handbell in his right hand and a small object in his left. He wears gold chains, a red rudraksha mala and gold bangles, and sits on a brown animal hide. Before him is an arrangement of white and pink flowers, a garland with yellow balls, a brass lamp stand, a copper vessel with rice, a bowl of yellow flowers and a shell. Behind him a bare-chested man in white dhoti stands near a black leather sofa. The scene suggests a home puja setting. One man is visible, partly behind the seated figure.A seated man in an orange silk garment, bare-shouldered with a gold-toned sacred thread and a bracelet on his wrist, pours a white liquid from a shell-like vessel over a Sri Meru yantra made of pale tiers on a brass tray. The yantra sits on a peetha-like base amid marigold and jasmine garlands and pink petals, with a smoking fire pit and brass vessels beside it. Behind, a shrine holds a deity murti in red and white adornments flanked by brass lamps and flowers. A person's hand holding a brass vessel is partly visible at lower left, and a tiger-striped seat cover sits at the left edge. The description of this photo's appearance-based label: the man's shaved head, orange garment, sacred thread and bracelet are consistent with a person performing the abhishekam, with an unsure identity tag.A seated man in saffron-orange robes and an orange head wrap sits cross-legged before a fire pit during a homa-style ritual, hands pressed together in prayer and a rudraksha-like bead bracelet visible on his wrist. The fire pit is built up with white tiers, stacked wood and a flame, surrounded by yellow and red flower garlands, pineapples, bananas, platters of fruit and sweets, and a brass kalasha-style lamp. A microphone stands at his left and water bottles sit near the fire. A white-draped seat stands behind him.2007-09-30September 30 20072007-09-30Photograph of a fire ritual at night.
