A photograph of a seated group of bare-chested male devotees at a Shiva Deeksha initiation ritual. The central man, in the foreground, has a white sacred thread across his chest and a red-and-gold pendant necklace, and he holds a small green leaf or card while looking down in prayer. Behind and around him, other men with sacred ash marks on their foreheads and bodies sit with hands folded or eyes closed, some wearing white dhotis and beaded rudraksha-style necklaces. The scene has a warm, dim, devotional atmosphere.

A photograph of a group of shirtless men seated in a row during a ritual, with white sacred ash marks on their foreheads, chests and arms, and white sacred threads over their shoulders. The central man, wearing glasses and a red rudraksha mala with a pendant, sits with eyes lowered and hands near a small object on a cloth. Others around him sit with eyes closed, some chanting, dressed in white and yellow cloths. The setting appears to be an indoor hall with white walls and a blurred background.

A photograph of several men seated in a hall performing a ritual with incense sticks. Four men in white dhotis with red-bordered cloth and white forehead marks hold lit incense sticks and small brass bells, raising their arms. A man at the front left wears wire-rimmed glasses, rudraksha malas and a gold bracelet. At the right foreground a shaved-headed man in an orange-saffron shawl with rudraksha beads sits with his head bowed. A tall whiteboard and pale walls form the background, and a few partially visible children appear at the left edge.

A photograph of a seated group of devotees in a ritual setting, most bare-chested and marked with white sacred ash stripes across their chests and shoulders, wearing white dhotis and white sacred threads over the shoulder. In the centre, a grey-haired man with a white horizontal tilak on his forehead and a rudraksha-style bead pendant on a white cord sits with his palms pressed together in prayer, gazing to the side. Beside him and behind, other participants in similar white attire sit attentively, one with his hands folded. The people appear to be taking part in an initiation-style ceremony with ritual markings on the body.

Photograph of a group of bare-chested men in white dhotis with white sacred ash markings on their foreheads and arms, gathered outdoors near a reddish-brown wall. The central man has his palms raised and hands open in prayer, wearing a rudraksha mala, red thread and a pendant. Others stand nearby with folded hands or bowed heads, one holding a pendant and another wearing a red-and-white beaded necklace. The men appear to be pada yatris, devotees who walked a long pilgrimage, in a devotional gathering. No identifiable a person figure is visible in the frame.

A photograph of shaven-headed men in bare-chested sannyasi dress at a ritual gathering. Three men stand close together with white ash marks on their foreheads, chests and arms, and rudraksha malas around their necks. The man on the right, smiling, holds a handful of yellow turmeric-like powder, and the men on the left and centre also hold yellow powder in their hands. Behind them, a tented hall with white drapes, hanging lamps and other devotees in orange and maroon robes suggests a puja setting.
