A crowd of devotees stands waist-deep in the water of a sunlit sacred pool beneath a large black kalasha-shaped fountain structure ringed with yellow and orange marigold garlands, with red-and-white painted walls behind. Many men and women wear white dhotis and saris, some in orange or saffron garments, and many hold small brass or copper kalasha vessels above their heads. At the centre a man in an orange shirt with a red and white floral garland and a red-and-white shawl holds a vessel and stands among the devotees. Another man in orange and white robes stands nearby. Some people raise their hands in prayer while others pour water from the vessels in a holy dip ritual at Vaidya Sarovar.
