A seated priest in white dhoti and shawl with a red sash reads from a paper text during a puja on the floor of a room. In front of him stands a small gold-coloured altar holding a deity murti dressed in orange and gold, with a gold-bordered cloth beneath. Offerings are arranged on a red cloth: a silver plate of glass vessels, a bowl of white flowers or puffed rice, and a tray of melons, watermelon, apples, pineapple and bananas. Other people in white and red sashes sit behind, and a silver kalasha-style vessel and brass lamp rest nearby. The scene suggests a puja with fruit offerings.2012-12-16A photograph of a man seated on the floor in a white dhoti with a red shawl draped over one shoulder, bare-chested and with sandalwood or vibhuti marks on his arms and shoulder, performing a puja. He sits before a tray of silver vessels and kalasha-style bowls with orange flowers, beside a tiger-striped cloth and a tall stack of fruit including apples, melons and dragon fruit. An orange silk-draped altar with a brass bell stand sits behind him, and papers rest in the foreground. Appearance-based cues do not qualify him as a person, so he is described only by role as a priest performing puja.2012-12-25November 06 20112011-11-06May 24 20162016-05-24Night-time outdoor ritual on a wooden platform under a canopy decorated with pink, blue and yellow bunting and green leaves. A standing priest in orange-red dhoti with a gold-toned body and rudraksha beads holds a silver bowl. Beside him, a seated figure in orange robes and a beaded mala joins hands in prayer. Two men in white dhotis with sacred threads sit to the left, and a few more people stand in the background. In front lie brass vessels, silver ritual implements, a conch-shaped tray, fruits, black berries and a small oil lamp, with a decorated deity murti at right garlanded with white flowers. This is a puja or homa-style ceremony.2012-10-19 +1 copiesDecember 16 20122012-12-16A photograph of a ritual puja setup on a patterned red-and-cream carpet. In the foreground are a large engraved silver kalasha with a coconut and mango leaves, silver bowls of fruit, sweets and offerings, a silver pot of flowers, and a silver vessel with a lid. Behind, a gilded throne draped in an orange cloth sits above a small silver tray. Seated devotees in white clothes with orange shawls, one with hands folded in anjali, one holding a flower garland, surround the offerings. Marigolds and petals are scattered among the items, consistent with an abhishekam or puja. No person is clearly identifiable as a person; the throne is empty of a visible figure.2007-02-24December 12 20162016-12-12October 16 20102010-10-16 +1 copiesDecember 12 20162016-12-12May 25 20172017-05-25March 15 20202020-03-15 +2 copies
