Many wear white, while women wear saffron, yellow, red and blue saris and salwars. A woman in the centre-right wears a saffron-orange sari with white body markings. At the right edge, men in white dhotis raise lit torches or lamps beneath a small canopy strung with colourful flags, with a row of small lights along the back of the crowd and street lamps above.
