In the foreground, a young shaved-headed devotee with white tripundra marks bends forward at the waist, eating from cupped hands a yellow food offering, while a bare-chested man at right holds a handful of the same yellow food and wears rudraksha malas. Others in orange and white clothing stand and sit in the background, with banners and posters on the wall behind. The scene suggests a ritual food-offering or prasadam distribution.2017-07-03July 03 20172017-07-03July 03 20172017-07-03Photograph of a group of young men and women in saffron-orange ritual wraps, many bare-chested with white ash markings on their arms and foreheads, standing in a hall. Several hold cupped handfuls of yellow prasad and bring them to their mouths. The central man wears wooden rudraksha beads and a bracelet of beads, and his hair is tied up in a loose knot; the people around him have long, flowing dreadlocked hair. Behind them a gold-toned decorated wall and a blurred pale background suggest a temple or ashram setting.2017-07-03Photograph of a group of young devotees in saffron-orange cloths wrapped over their shoulders and waists, several with white stripes painted on their arms and foreheads. In the foreground a girl with long dark hair and a red pendant holds yellow prasad or offering mixture in both hands, while others around her hold up similar yellow offerings. Behind them a bare-chested young man with long hair and white forehead markings stands among the group, and a blurred yellow-walled building appears in the background.2017-07-03Photo of a ritual meal in a hall. A young boy with curly hair, bare-chested and wearing an orange cloth wrap with a white vertical forehead mark, leans forward and offers a handful of yellow-green food to an older youth on the right, who has a white forehead mark, rudraksha beads and an orange shawl and opens his mouth to receive it. Behind them, another person with long dark hair in an orange garment stands, and several orange-clad people sit on a floor with coloured mats and food. Maroon curtains hang in the background.2017-07-03Photograph of a seated group of shaven-headed men in orange-red robes and white forehead markings performing a ritual indoors. The foreground man, bare-chested with an orange-and-gold shawl across his shoulder, holds a small brass oil lamp in one hand and a brass bell in the other. Rudraksha malas hang on several men behind him, and white ash stripes mark their arms and chests. Small brass oil lamps and offerings sit on a cloth at lower left, with a water bottle nearby. Warm pinkish walls and gold pillars frame the hall. No clearly identifiable throne or a person cues are visible in the foreground, so the central figure is a priest-like participant rather than a confirmed a person.2017-02-10December 29 20162016-12-29Annadhan in 20132013-01-01 +1 copies
