Photograph of a homa fire ceremony at night, with a square yellow-bordered fire pit blazing and smoke rising. Several priests in saffron-orange dhotis and shawls sit around the pit; one at the front wears a saffron wrap and dark-rimmed glasses and feeds sticks into the flame, another on the right wears an orange turban with a tall plume, rudraksha-style beaded garlands and gold ornaments and holds a sacred implement. Behind them, rows of seated devotees in white kurtas with red shawls and women in cream saris watch from a carpeted floor. A brass lamp and offering trays sit at the edge, and a small figure of a deity stands at the right corner.

A homa fire ritual at night in an open courtyard. A fire burns in a yellow-edged stone fire pit strewn with yellow flowers. Five young men in saffron-orange robes sit around it. The central one wears an orange turban and a gold necklace, and pours an offering from a ladle into the flames. Another wears a rudraksha mala and holds a ladle; a man in an orange shawl and brown beaded mala speaks into a microphone, and another holds a small silver vessel. Smoke rises above them. White sacred ash marks the foreheads and arms of the men.

Three young men in saffron-orange robes sit before a homa fire pit at night, with flowers scattered on yellow steps. The man on the left has white stripes on his arms and a rudraksha-style mala, the man in the centre wears a long rust-coloured shawl and a long necklace with a white tilak on his forehead, and the man on the right holds a brass bowl and a ladle-like spoon near the flames. Marigold-red and white flowers surround the fire, and a silver oil lamp sits on the steps. The fire blazes against dark foliage.

A night homa ritual beside a brick fire pit with a bright flame, lined with yellow-painted edges. A young boy seated on a low wooden seat with a patterned cloth, wearing orange saffron cloth and a rudraksha mala, white body markings on his arms and chest, looks toward the fire. Beside him, a shaved-headed boy in orange and rudraksha malas sits on the floor pouring offerings, while another boy in orange with a tilak holds a bowl. Brass bowls of offerings, a bundle of sticks and a lamp sit in front. A young attendant in an orange turban and multiple malas holds a tray of herbs and offerings. Lamps and a brass vessel are visible at the edges.

A night-time homa in progress at a square fire pit lined with yellow and orange marigold garlands. A central priest, bare-chested with a pink turban and many marigold garlands, sits cross-legged before a tall flame and tosses offerings into it. Beside him, a man in an orange shawl and white dhoti speaks into a handheld microphone and holds a basket of wood sticks. Other bare-chested men in white dhotis and garlands sit around the fire, and a man in a green cloth bends forward at the back. Baskets of offerings and small brass vessels rest on the ground.

A photograph of a homa fire ceremony in a tent setting. A fire burns in a yellow-brick fire pit with kindling. A man in a purple shawl with a gold chain pours or offers an item from a spoon into the fire, while a man in orange and red dhoti-style clothing with a shawl sits at right holding a small vessel. Behind them, a man in red and orange clothes holds a basket of offerings, and a woman in white and gold stands at left. Steel bowls, a brass lamp and rows of white cups or shell-like offerings sit on shelves at right, with a small deity murti visible at far right.
