May 26 20172017-05-26Night-time outdoor ritual under a corrugated roof beside a golden deity murti of Ganesha, draped with yellow and red garlands and seated on a gilded elephant-shaped vahana. A fire pit burns in front, with fruit and brass vessels set out as offerings. A figure in a saffron-orange robe with a shaved head sits cross-legged near the fire. A seated person in a deep maroon robe rests on a red-cushioned gilded throne at the right, holding a yellow cloth. A man in white kneels at the fire's edge, and saffron-robed attendants sit nearby. Women in white and in saris stand at the right, some holding yellow items and some with hands folded. A standing fan and string lights are visible. The scene is consistent with a homa and puja.2013-11-04Night-time homa at a temple shrine. In the centre, a rectangular fire pit blazes with orange flames, surrounded by marigold and rose petals and a small metal bowl. Behind it, a golden peetha throne draped in red cloth and decorated with yellow and orange flower garlands stands before a gilded deity murti niche. At left, a bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti and white ritual cloth holds a microphone, and a young attendant wearing ornate beaded necklaces holds a basket of flower petals. At right, a seated figure in orange robes with a flower garland sits on a golden chair beneath a colourful umbrella. Several other robed people stand in the background near drums and a metal lamp.2016-02-16December 07 20162016-12-07February 16 20162016-02-16 +1 copiesFebruary 22 20162016-02-22May 25 20172017-05-25July 19 20132013-07-19March 16 20172017-03-16August 09 20152015-08-09Night-time homa at an outdoor ritual site. A fire burns in a pit at centre-right, sending up smoke and glow. A seated figure in the background sits on a red and gold throne-like chair wearing a long garland and rudraksha-style necklace; the figure's pale clothing and presentation are not clearly distinctive enough to confirm identity. A bald priest in white dhoti kneels at right, with a mala around his neck, beside a green-and-striped mat and flower petals. In the foreground, a man with a blue head cloth and white dhoti faces the fire. At left, a large floral garland arrangement, brass kalasha-like vessels, fruit and marigold offerings, and oil lamps surround the altar. Electric fans and a parked car appear behind.2013-07-17Night-time homa at an outdoor temple setting. In the foreground, a bare-backed priest in an orange dhoti and a pink-and-orange cloth at his waist stands facing a brass-framed fire pit where flames rise, with a bowl of ghee-like offering beside it. A second attendant at left, wearing white dhoti and a mala, holds a woven basket of flowers. Behind the fire, a golden peetha carries a draped red cloth and marigold garlands, flanked by a golden chair under a red-and-yellow canopy. Seated on the golden throne at right, a robed figure in orange-brown clothing wears a red-and-white garland. Smoke and dim lights fill the background.2016-02-16
