August 06 20092009-08-06Night-time photograph of an outdoor garden of small thatched-roof shrines with red-and-white striped plinths, arranged around a dirt path lined with young saplings. Each plinth-shrine holds a small deity murti under a thatched canopy, with strings of lights and orange-and-saffron flags above. Purple and orange information boards list Tamil text, and a green board stands at the right edge. A few figures in white clothing are faintly visible among the shrines, but none is clearly identifiable.2009-08-05A thatched-roof open shrine in a sandy courtyard with several small orange and red saffron flags on poles. Striped red-and-white pillars stand at the edges, and behind them are statues and murtis set under green cloth backdrops and gold-coloured arches. Trees frame the scene on both sides. No people are visible. The courtyard is quiet and empty.2009-08-06August 06 20092009-08-06August 05 20092009-08-05Outdoor temple grounds with thatched-roof shrine canopies over stone deity murti and a Shiva lingam on a red-and-white striped base. Two people in orange saffron robes walk along a sandy path; one carries a small object and the other walks beside him. A third person in white with a yellow shawl stands behind them. Signboards in Tamil and a potted plant with white flowers frame the scene, and wire cages surround small plants. Identity of the orange-robed figures cannot be established from appearance, so they are described by role only.2008-10-19August 05 20092009-08-05Outdoor temple grounds with a tree-shaded courtyard of small black stone shivalinga shrines on red-and-white painted square plinths set in reddish-brown earth. A tall tree with thin trunks dominates the centre, with young potted palms in front. On the right, a curved arched gateway frames black lingams draped with orange and red cloths. No people are visible.2012-10-13A photograph of a small open-sided roadside shrine under a thatched palm-leaf roof with bamboo posts, set among trees and dry scrub. Inside, a deity murti dressed in a green cloth and garland sits on a grey stone platform in front of a grey draped backdrop. A tall brass trident with two golden orbs stands before it. Small orange-painted offerings sit to the right and a conical white-and-red mound is at the left. The ground is bare earth with scattered litter.2007-03-03A wide outdoor photograph of a rural compound at the base of a forested hill. A tall pole flies an orange flag above a green-walled thatched hut, flanked by smaller thatched structures topped with orange flags, all enclosed by a low fence of upright wooden stakes. A sign is posted on the fence. A bare-chested man in white and a person in dark clothing walk on the dry dirt ground in front of the fence, with dense trees along the right side.2009-08-06A photograph of an outdoor garden of black stone statues on red-and-white striped square plinths, set on reddish earth between green trees and shrubs. Several seated statues show carved headdresses and some wear blue or red sashes. Small plaques are visible on the plinths. No people are visible in the scene.2012-10-06A photograph of a rustic thatched-roof structure set against a green hillside with palm trees and saffron flags on tall poles. The main thatched building has teal green tarpaulin walls and maroon-curtained doorways, flanked by smaller thatched shelters with arched gold-painted frames. In the foreground a wooden plank and wire fence encloses dry red earth, and a man in white clothes sits on a concrete slab with his head bowed.2008-08-03
